Privacy

Last updated 26 July 2026. Plain-English version: we keep the bare minimum to let you sign in and save your stats; we use Google Analytics and PostHog (product analytics + crash reports, hosted in the EU) to see how the site is used — no ads, no profiling, IP addresses dropped, and on the website session replay records a heavily-masked view of your session by default (you can switch it off anytime), while in the Karooty iOS app it is switched off entirely; we never sell anything, and you can delete all your account data yourself at any time.

You can play without an account. Karooty is guest-first — 150 is fully playable with no sign-in. We only store anything on our servers if you choose to create an account.

What we collect

If you create an account, we store only:

Your email address — so we can send your sign-in link and identify your account.
A display name — defaulted from your email, shown on your stats. You choose it.
Your game stats — games played, wins, losses, and your best (lowest) score.
Passkey credentials — if you add a passkey, we store its public key (never any biometric or private key; those never leave your device).

As a guest, your stats live only in your own browser (localStorage) and never reach our servers until you sign in and choose to save them.

We do not store IP addresses or advertising identifiers in our own database, nor any profile data from Google beyond your email. Our analytics provider (Google Analytics) does process your IP address transiently to estimate coarse location — see Who processes it and Cookies & storage below.

Why we collect it & the legal basis

Email — used only to send transactional sign-in links and run your account. We do not send marketing email.
Display name & stats — to show you your record across devices (the reason to sign in).

Where GDPR applies, our basis is performance of the service you asked for (and your consent, given by creating the account).

Who processes it

Supabase — authentication and database (stores the data above). Access is restricted per-user by row-level security.
Vercel — hosts the site and serves pages.
Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google"; we receive your email from them and nothing more.
Google Analytics — measures how the site is used (page views, game starts, device/browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP). It sets first-party analytics cookies and shares this usage data with Google LLC. We keep advertising and remarketing features disabled; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland it runs without cookies until you consent.
PostHog — product analytics and crash/error reporting, on PostHog Cloud in the EU (Frankfurt). Usage events reach it through our own first-party karooty.com/ingest proxy. Your IP address is discarded on collection. Events are tied to a random anonymous id in your browser, or — once you sign in — to an opaque account identifier (never your email or display name). In the Karooty iOS app, session replay is disabled entirely — nothing is recorded there, whatever this setting says. On the website it is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time in settings. Recordings are heavily masked — card faces, dice, chat and on-screen text are never captured, and sign-in tokens and invite codes are stripped from URLs. We keep product events for about 12 months and any session recordings for 30 days.

These are processors acting on our behalf. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete it. Delete your account and it's removed from our database immediately, with backups rolling off shortly after. Guest stats vanish whenever you clear your browser storage.

How to delete your data

On your stats page, signed in, use "Delete my account" — this permanently removes your account, profile, stats, and any passkeys. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. The stats page already shows everything we hold about you; the delete button removes all of it. For anything else, email us.

Cookies & storage

We don't use advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to hold guest stats. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland it sets a first-party analytics cookie (a random _ga client id) and sends page and game-start events to Google; inside the EEA, UK and Switzerland it runs in cookieless mode until you consent. We also send privacy-friendly product-usage and crash events to PostHog (EU) through our own /ingest path, tied to a random anonymous id in your browser (or an opaque account id once you sign in) — its IP is discarded, and it uses local storage, not advertising cookies. Session replay is disabled entirely in the Karooty iOS app. On the website it is on by default and records a masked view of your session; you can switch it off in settings at any time. None of this is used to advertise to you or to build a profile of you, and auth tokens, invite codes and other URL secrets are stripped from anything analytics sees.

Children

Karooty isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.

يمكنك اللعب من دون حساب. صُمّم Karooty ليُستخدم كضيف أولاً — لعبة 150 قابلة للعب بالكامل من دون تسجيل دخول. ولا نخزّن أي شيء على خوادمنا إلا إذا اخترت إنشاء حساب.

البيانات التي نجمعها

إذا أنشأت حساباً، فإننا نخزّن فقط ما يلي:

عنوان بريدك الإلكتروني — لنتمكّن من إرسال رابط تسجيل الدخول إليك والتعرّف على حسابك.
اسم العرض — يُشتق افتراضياً من بريدك الإلكتروني ويظهر في إحصائياتك. وأنت من يختاره.
إحصائيات ألعابك — عدد المباريات التي لعبتها، ومرات الفوز، ومرات الخسارة، وأفضل نتيجة لديك (وهي الأدنى).
بيانات اعتماد مفاتيح المرور — إذا أضفت مفتاح مرور (passkey)، فإننا نخزّن مفتاحه العام فقط (ولا نخزّن أبداً أي بيانات حيوية أو أي مفتاح خاص؛ فهذه لا تغادر جهازك مطلقاً).

أما كضيف، فإن إحصائياتك تبقى في متصفحك أنت فقط (localStorage) ولا تصل إلى خوادمنا أبداً إلى أن تسجّل الدخول وتختار حفظها.

نحن لا نخزّن عناوين IP ولا معرّفات إعلانية في قاعدة بياناتنا الخاصة، ولا أي بيانات ملف تعريفي من Google سوى بريدك الإلكتروني. غير أن مزوّد التحليلات لدينا (Google Analytics) يعالج عنوان IP الخاص بك معالجةً عابرة لتقدير موقعك الجغرافي التقريبي — انظر قسمَي من يعالج البيانات وملفات تعريف الارتباط والتخزين أدناه.

لماذا نجمعها والأساس القانوني

البريد الإلكتروني — يُستخدم فقط لإرسال روابط تسجيل الدخول ذات الطابع الخدمي ولإدارة حسابك. ولا نرسل رسائل بريد إلكتروني تسويقية.
اسم العرض والإحصائيات — لنعرض لك سجلّك عبر مختلف أجهزتك (وهو سبب تسجيل الدخول أصلاً).

حيثما تنطبق اللائحة العامة لحماية البيانات (GDPR)، فإن أساسنا القانوني هو تنفيذ الخدمة التي طلبتَها (وموافقتك التي منحتها بإنشائك الحساب).

من يعالج البيانات

Supabase — المصادقة وقاعدة البيانات (تخزّن البيانات المذكورة أعلاه). والوصول مقيَّد لكل مستخدم على حدة عبر أمان مستوى الصفوف (row-level security).
Vercel — يستضيف الموقع ويقدّم صفحاته.
Google — فقط إذا اخترت «المتابعة عبر Google»؛ فنتلقى منهم بريدك الإلكتروني ولا شيء غيره.
Google Analytics — يقيس كيفية استخدام الموقع (مشاهدات الصفحات، ومرات بدء الألعاب، ونوع الجهاز والمتصفح، والموقع الجغرافي التقريبي المستمدّ من عنوان IP الخاص بك). وهو يضع ملفات تعريف ارتباط تحليلية من الطرف الأول ويشارك بيانات الاستخدام هذه مع شركة Google LLC. ونُبقي ميزات الإعلانات وإعادة الاستهداف معطّلة؛ وفي المنطقة الاقتصادية الأوروبية والمملكة المتحدة وسويسرا يعمل من دون ملفات تعريف ارتباط حتى تمنح موافقتك.
PostHog — تحليلات المنتج وتقارير الأعطال والأخطاء، على سحابة PostHog في الاتحاد الأوروبي (فرانكفورت). وتصل أحداث الاستخدام إليها عبر وسيطنا من الطرف الأول karooty.com/ingest. ويُسقَط عنوان IP الخاص بك عند الجمع. وتُربط الأحداث بمعرّف مجهول عشوائي في متصفحك، أو — بعد تسجيل دخولك — بمعرّف حساب مبهم (لا ببريدك الإلكتروني ولا باسم العرض). وتسجيل الجلسة معطّل تماماً في تطبيق Karooty على iOS — فلا يُسجَّل فيه أي شيء إطلاقاً، مهما كان هذا الإعداد. أما على الموقع الإلكتروني فهو مُفعَّل افتراضياً، ويمكنك إيقافه في أي وقت من الإعدادات. والتسجيلات محجوبة بشدّة، فتُحجب وجوه البطاقات والنرد والدردشة والنصوص الظاهرة على الشاشة، وتُجرَّد رموز تسجيل الدخول ورموز الدعوات من الروابط. ونحتفظ بأحداث المنتج نحو 12 شهراً وبأي تسجيلات للجلسات 30 يوماً.

هذه الجهات معالِجات تعمل بالنيابة عنا. ونحن لا نبيع بياناتك ولا نؤجّرها لأي جهة، ولا نستخدمها لأغراض إعلانية.

مدة الاحتفاظ بالبيانات

نحتفظ ببيانات حسابك إلى أن تحذفها أنت. فبمجرد حذف حسابك تُزال بياناتك من قاعدة بياناتنا فوراً، وتزول من النسخ الاحتياطية تباعاً بعد ذلك بفترة وجيزة. أما إحصائيات الضيف فتختفي متى مسحت بيانات التخزين في متصفحك.

كيفية حذف بياناتك

في صفحة الإحصائيات الخاصة بك، وأنت مسجَّل الدخول، استخدم زر «حذف حسابي» — وهو ما يزيل نهائياً حسابك وملفك الشخصي وإحصائياتك وأي مفاتيح مرور لديك. ويمكنك أيضاً مراسلتنا عبر البريد الإلكتروني وسنقوم بذلك نيابةً عنك.

حقوقك

يمكنك الوصول إلى بياناتك وتصحيحها وتصديرها وحذفها. وتعرض صفحة الإحصائيات بالفعل كل ما نحتفظ به عنك؛ ويزيل زر الحذف كل ذلك. ولأي طلب آخر، راسلنا عبر البريد الإلكتروني.

ملفات تعريف الارتباط والتخزين

لا نستخدم ملفات تعريف ارتباط إعلانية. ونستخدم التخزين المحلي في متصفحك لإبقائك مسجَّل الدخول ولحفظ إحصائيات الضيف. ونستخدم Google Analytics لفهم كيفية استخدام الموقع: فخارج المنطقة الاقتصادية الأوروبية والمملكة المتحدة وسويسرا يضع ملفّ تعريف ارتباط تحليلياً من الطرف الأول (معرّف عميل عشوائي _ga) ويرسل أحداث الصفحات وبدء الألعاب إلى Google؛ وداخل المنطقة الاقتصادية الأوروبية والمملكة المتحدة وسويسرا يعمل في وضع من دون ملفات تعريف ارتباط حتى تمنح موافقتك. كما نرسل أحداث استخدام المنتج والأعطال المراعية للخصوصية إلى PostHog (الاتحاد الأوروبي) عبر مسارنا /ingest، مرتبطةً بمعرّف مجهول عشوائي في متصفحك (أو بمعرّف حساب مبهم بعد تسجيل دخولك) — ويُسقَط عنوان IP الخاص بها، وتستخدم التخزين المحلي لا ملفات تعريف الارتباط الإعلانية. وتسجيل الجلسة معطّل تماماً في تطبيق Karooty على iOS؛ أما على الموقع الإلكتروني فهو مُفعَّل افتراضياً ويسجّل نسخةً محجوبةً من جلستك، ويمكنك إيقافه من الإعدادات في أي وقت. ولا يُستخدم أي من ذلك لعرض إعلانات عليك أو لبناء ملف تعريفي عنك، وتُجرَّد رموز المصادقة ورموز الدعوات وأسرار الروابط الأخرى من أي شيء تطّلع عليه التحليلات.

الأطفال

‏Karooty ليس موجَّهاً إلى الأطفال دون سنّ 13 عاماً، ولا نجمع بياناتهم عن علم.

التغييرات

إذا تغيّرت هذه السياسة تغييراً جوهرياً، فسنحدّث التاريخ أعلاه. واستمرارك في الاستخدام بعد أي تغيير يعني قبولك السياسة المحدَّثة.
